Wilks, to whom we are also indebted for the Shirley Poppies, is unquestionably the greatest improvement ever made in Foxgloves. The very vigorous plants attain a height of 5 to 7 feet, with spikes of bloom 4 fed in length, closely set with flowers of unusual size, ranging in color from the purest white to dari handsomely spotted and blotched with crimson, maroon and chocolate.
