Franklin heating station provides climate control to Mayo medical complex and other buildings in downtown Rochester Minnesota

The Franklin Heating Station in downtown Rochester Minnesota supplies: chilled water, low and high pressure steam, along with electricity to downtown buildings. CHP (Combined Heat and Power) was widely practiced until the 1950's. It is coming back into vogue as energy costs soar and every available use is made of what would have been "waste" heat.
