The crossing point at the Berlin Wall at Staaken, West Berlin


This gate divided the people of East Germany from the railway at Staaken. The only people allowed to cross the line were troops and school children who made their way to the school which was in no man's land. The locals called this gate the 'Monkey Cage'.
