MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Dec. 6, 2016) An F/A-18C Hornet assigned to the Wildcats of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 131 launches from the flight deck of the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) (Ike). Ike is deployed in support of Operation Inherent Resolve, maritime security operations and theater security operation efforts in the 6th Fleet area of operations.
