Pressing chopped up apples into juice at Cromford Apple Day

Apple Day was established by the environmental charity Common Ground in 1992 in London as an annual celebration of apples, orchards and local produce and has since ballooned to the extent where it now takes place at over 600 locations around the UK, including Cromford in Derbyshire. The event was formerly organised by the legendary bookshop Scarthin Books but is now run by Celebrating Cromford.
