It was due only in part to thedepressed mood of the patient, but chiefly to the bright wrinkling of the forehead and eyebrows, the folds on the skinof the nose, the drawing upward of the lower lids, cheeks, andupper lip serve to diminish the palpebral opening and prevent theentrance of light. The same play of features was repeated, how-ever, in a darker place, and the patients conversation
