During the Medical Readiness Training Exercise 16-2, both Lt. Col. Tyson Becker, general surgeon, and American Lt. Col. Scott Howard, oral surgeon for Brooke Army Medical Center, lead a tracheostomy procedure together on a male patient while working alongside a Ghanaian medical resident student and other students at the 37th Military Hospital on Feb. 25, 2016, Accra, Ghana. MEDRETE 16-2 is part of a series of mutually beneficial exercises that will promote partnership and enhance medical capacity.
