On the way to Vienna, in 1861, Mr and Mrs Motleywith two daughters were for a brief period in Pariswhere they met an old and very valued friend, Mrs , and it was settled that she should takethe youngest girl, Susan, then a child, to Rome for thewinter, promising to bring her to Venice in the ensuingspring, where her parents would meet her. 118.
