TOWNSHEND ISLAND, Australia (July 13, 2017) Sailors and Marines onboard Landing Craft Utility (LCU) 1651, assigned to Naval Beach Unit (NBU) 7, offload equipment as part of large-scale amphibious assault during Talisman Saber 17. The LCU, launched from the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), enabled movement of 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) forces and equipment ashore in order for the MEU to complete mission objectives in tandem with Australian counterparts.
