A drill instructor from Charlie Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, instructs a recruit to move faster during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, June 9. Drill instructors teach the new recruits to move quickly and with purpose while aboard the depot. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Charlie Company is scheduled to graduate Sept. 1.
