Eight inches beneath theroosts is placed the droppings plat-form, which keeps the floor cleanand increases the floor space avail-able for other purposes. Underneaththe droppings platform are placedthe nests. There should be eightinches of roosting place for eachbird and one nest for every six orseven hens. Joists or collar beams are placedin the house just high enough to af-ford head room.
