Premier and Colum- bia seem to be the main cut of roses, with Ophelia a close third. Short roses are demanding $3 and $4 per hundred and the best bring from $13 to $16 per hundred. Carnations are selling in lim- ited numbers at $3 and $4 per hundred, snapdragons at $8 and early mums at $15 to $20 per hundred. Cattleyas are plentiful. Vaxiotis Notes. At a meeting of the Omaha florists, September 29, it was decided to get the sentiment of all Omaha, Neb., and Iowa growers in regard to holding a chrysan- themum show in Omaha, November, 1922. Literature is being sent out ask- ing the florists how they feel about the matter and this will come up in the October meeting. At th« weekly bowling contest F. Swanson rolled liigh score, 196. All Omaha floriata are interested in who will have the best cyclamen this winter and thus far it is an even race between F. Lainson and C. Hargadine. The midge is again making its ap- pearance and in some cases has ruined the entire crop. Among thoae calling on the trade this week were J. A. Lambert, of the Ove Gnatt Co., Laporte, Ind.; H. W. Miller, of R. E. Gebhardt Co., Chicago, and Frank Stuppy, of Stuppy Floral Co., St. Joseph, Mo. Mrs. Grengene has taken a position with J. Bath.
