The machinery has been constantly im-proved, and automatic machines are now usedby which one operator can do as much work ascould be accomplished by twenty men workingby hand. These machines have been intro-duced in both France and England, and has made several trips abroad in theinterest of his patent. Mr. Clongh and two as-sistants were constantly at work makingscrews, which were sold at five cents a ])ieceas fast as they could be turned out. At theCotton States Exposition at Atlanta, in 1895,the exhibit of the Rockwell Clongh Companyattracted great attention, and Mr. Clough washonored by being chosen president of an asso-ciation composed of all the leading exhibitors,some fifteen hundred in number; in this posi-tion he entertained foreign and State clubs,and came in contact with many interesting andwidely-known people.
