Formerly homeless women make coats that convert to sleeping bags for homeless people

Detroit, Michigan - Women sew coats for the homeless at the nonprofit Empowerment Plan. The organization hires homeless women as seamstresses. Their coats convert to waterproof sleeping bags, which are distributed free to the estimated 20,000 homeless citizens of Detroit.
