Space Shuttle mission STS-121 (4-17 July 2006). This mission was flown by the Space Shuttle Discovery. A crew of seven travelled to the International Space Station (ISS) to deliver supplies and carry out repairs. They also tested new safety procedures and safety equipment for the Space Shuttle. Here, Discovery is approaching the ISS. The cargo bay doors are open, and the ISS's Leonardo module is seen inside the cargo bay. Photographed on 6 July 2006.
