INDIAN ISLAND, Wash., (April 28, 2017) – Lyle Britt, a reasearcher with the Alaska Fishery and Science Center, shows a crab to some students from Blue Heron Middle School during a community outreach beach seining with the United States Geological Survey (USGS) at Naval Magazine Indian Island. This is the third year the USGS has teamed up with Blue Heron Middle School and Naval Magazine Indian Island to conduct beach seinings in preparation for the Kilsut Spit waterflow to be opened between Marrowstone and Indian Island.
