International Space Station (ISS) after completion, artwork. Modules present include the laboratories of the USA (Destiny, marked NASA), Europe (Columbus, marked ESA) and Japan (Kibo, marked NASDA). Multiple truss components carry arrays of solar panels (blue). At upper left, an ATV (Automated Transfer Vehicle) is attached to the Russian Zvezda module, with the Zarya module at centre. The Canadarm2 robotic arm is also shown. The ISS, built in stages since 1998, orbits at an altitude of around 360 kilometres, has been crewed since 2000, is scheduled for completion in 2012, and will remain in use until at least 2020.
