A German silver-mounted splendid flintlock shotgun, circa 1730 Two-stage barrel in 16 mm calibre, octagonal then round and smooth after a chiselled girdle, with silver-inlaid 'spider' front sight. At the muzzle and the breech silver inlays in régence style with engraved portrait bust. Hunting-themed and ornamentally chiselled flintlock. Beautiful walnut half stock, carved with tendrils, with horn nose and hunting-themed silver furniture in relief.
