USNS SACAGAWEA— Lance Cpl. Ivan Gallardo tests purified water from a lightweight water purification system, June 27, 2017, aboard the USNS SACAGAWEA. The LWPS can purify salt water at approximately 55 gallons per minute and freshwater at 75 gallons per minute. Gallardo is a water purification technician with Combat Logistics Battalion 3, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force, currently deployed to Koa Moana 17, and a Brownsville, Texas, native.
