I might, in theCourfe of thefe Criticifms, have taken notice of many-particular Lines and Expreffions which are tranflatedfrom the Greek Poet, but as I thought this would haveappeared too minute and over-curious, I have pur-pofely omitted them. The greater Incidents, how-ever, are not only fet off by being mown in the fameLight, with feveral of the fame Nature in Homer, butby that means may be alfo guarded againft the Cavilsof the Taftelefs or Ignorant. ,.
