A photograph showing the facial features and jaws of a monkfish, or anglerfish, Lophius piscatorius, that was caught trawling in the English Channel. The cheeks will be removed for cooking and the head used to make fish stock so none of the fish is wasted. There is some confusion over the names monkfish and anglerfish. Originally monkfish referred to the angel shark, Squatina squatina, however, anglerfish are now commonly referred to as monkfish. White background. Dorset England UK GB.
