His first charge was at Curllsville, ClarionCo., Pa., where he remained five years, and duringwhich period he organized six congregations. Hisnext charge was in Northumberland County, wherehe passed seven years of ministerial labor, when heaccepted a call to the Myerstown (German) ReformedChurch, and since the year 1861 been zealously en-gaged in pastoral duty there. The church has beenvery prosperous under his ministry. He has been. George and Hannah Wolff, born Jan. 9, 1801, diedJan. 4, 1859, and their children were George, Marga-ret, Hannah, David, Joseph, Alexander, Jacob, Eliz-abeth, and Sarah. George Wolff, the eldest, passedhis childhood in Cumberland County, and his youthin Adams County, Pa. At the age of eighteen hebegan his collegiate preparatory studies and enteredMarshall College, Mercersburg, where he graduatedin 1847. He completed his theological studies in1848, and was licensed and ordained to the ministry largely instrumental in the establishment of Palati-nate College, at Myerstown, of which he is a is also a trustee of Ursinus College, MontgomeryCo., Pa., and secretary of the Board of Foreign Mis-sions of the Reformed Church.
