CRAMER, Charlotte, N» C* DISK WHEELS, Probably the best device for removing exhaust steam, hotair, and offensive odors from dye houses is the style of fantechnically known as a Disk Wheel. These wheels are exceedingly simple, and very construction is clearly seen from the accompanyingillustration. Several arrangements of these wheels are possible to suitthe different conditions under which they are to be operated, only two of which are here Fie. ?.—Side Elevation. Fig. 4.—End Elevation. Of course, the simplest case is that of an outside wallwhere the wheel is inserted in the upper sash of a window,or set in a specially made hole in the wall ; no pipe connec-tions whatever are required. This method of setting isshown in Fig. i. Figs. 2, 3, and 4 show different views of an arrangementapplied to an inside wall. The disk wheel discharges out-ward into a galvanized iron pipe, carried through an adjoin-ing room to a suitable point where it can be dischargedoutside. 992 Atlanta, Ga., STUART W.
