13/01/19 Battered by driving rain and gale force winds, competitors, known as 'Spiners', cross over the Derbyshire Peak District near Glossop. The one hundred runners are just two hours into a week-long gruelling event that will see them run and walk the entire length of the Pennine Way into Scotland. The race started in Edale Derbyshire, at 8am and will finish next Sunday morning, 268 miles later in Kirk Yetholm. The Montane Spine Race is widely regarded as one of the worldÕs toughest endurance races. A truly epic challenge that will test physical resilience and mental fortitude.
