Chemical Reaction of Baking Soda (sodium bicarbonate) and Vinegar (acetic acid)
The mixture foams up as a result of the carbon dioxide that is produced. This reaction is an endothermic reaction meaning that energy is required for it to take place (the solution cools down during reaction). This effect is often used to make a model of an erupting volcano.
