Not only did we number over sixhundred and fifty—the largest class—but,if we are to believe all that we were toldthose first few days, we were also the mostserious minded class,—a real war greatest contribution to the Col-lege was in the person of our leadingspirit, President Neilson. On President Seelyes birthday (our first day atchapel), the new president was presented to us and 1921, though still newand strange, realized with peculiar pride and foresight that he was going tobe our Bonnie Scotch Laddie and we liked him from the start. Thosefirst few days were full of hurried calls from upper classmen asking for chapeldates, giving advice, and telling us that we were just going to love it.
