The southern part of the short arm of the cross is121 feet wide, and extends 75 feet beyond the walls of themain building. The lines of its cornice, being extendedback across the main building, for the external base fromwhich the dome springs. Its three stories are sub-dividedinto rooms, halls, corridors, etc. This is the official part ofthe building, where the Govenor of the state and his suiteand the members of the Board of Commissioners meet totransact business. Some of the rooms have been set asidefor the accomodation of the Womans Board, The northernarm of the cross is a fire-proof building, 75 feet wide and ex-tending 50 feet beyond the main building. Its walls arebrick, covered with staff; its roof is galvanized iron andglass, supported by steel trusses. This building is called theMemorial Ha
