On Dec. 1, 2012, the California Army National Guard's Pittsburg armory, home to the 870th Military Police Company, was named after Specialist Sean M. Attending the ceremony were his closest family and friends, Chaplain Caldwell, The Adjutant General, Maj. Gen. David S. Baldwin, California's 7th Senate District, Sen. James Smith, other key leaders of the CNG and the 185th and 49th Military Police units, VFW, American Legion, fellow Soldiers who served along side Sean and many more. The plaque will be mounted on the outside of the building and the fallen hero display will be proudly visible at the entrance to the armory.
