Branches purplish, ash- clothed with soft hairy pubescence, and with numerous leaves, elongate, terete. Leaves with ad- pressed pubescence. Leaflets linear, with revolute margins, somewhat ob- tuse. Calyx villous, the lower lip somewhat longer than the upper. Vexillum pubescent at the apex and middle. Legumes elongate, obtuse, whitish, with purple glands. Seed greenish black. ( Webb, Otia Hispan.) A large deciduous shrub. Spain, in warm valleys of the mountains of Granada, 4500 ft. to 5000 ft. above the sea. Height 15 ft. to 20 ft. In- troduced ?. Flowers reddish yellow, fragrant; June and July. Legume whitish, covered with numerous pur- • pie glands; ripe in August. a 2 coloured, Petioles. ^f^S.
