Antennae taper from the bafe: wings in general defle&ed when atreft. Fly by night. SPECIFIC CHARACTER AND yellow, with fulvous marks. Male fnowy white. The male and female of Phalana Humuli are very dimmilar, andmay eafily be miftaken for diftina fpecies. The male is perfeaiywhite, with a glofs like fatin, the abdomen, antennas, and margin ofthe wings excepted, for thefe are reddifh brown. The female is of afine yellow colour, with feveral fulvous or orange marks ; and isfomewhat larger than the other fex.
