(Sep 23, 2017) Culinary Specialist 2nd Class Steven Flowers holds his child for the first time during an interview as the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) arrives at Naval Station Norfolk as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group (BAT ARG) homecoming in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in Europe and the Middle East. BAT ARG includes Commander, Amphibious Squadron 8, USS Bataan (LHD 5), USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19), USS Carter Hall (LSD 50) and 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU).
