Owing to the scarcity and high price ofspelter the price of galvanized sheets, galvanized wares and otherproducts into which spelter enters have advanced , which began to advance last week after remaining practicallyunchanged since the outbreak of war, has shown further advances,and thus forced up prices on lead pipe, sheets, etc. As stated in pre-vious reports, lead has been very low when the prices of other metalsare considered, and the further advance was not unexpected. Drywhite lead has advanced 75 cents per 100 lbs. and this will be fol-lowed by an almost immediate advance in white lead in oil. Anti-mony and spelter are very scarce and purchases are being made atprices that break all previous records.
