Silting of Rivers - During the monsoon season soil erosion occurs from mining action further up stream this in turn leads to mud and silt entering the river system. Two raging forest’s river merge. One heavily silted due to mining activity then transports the silts into the river it merges with, a process which continues to the ocean. Meanwhile as flood waters rage onward a stranded dog looks hope of rescue from the mining truck negotiating the raging river crossing. Like the bewildered dog having reached temporary refuge will the forests survive the impact from continuous human activity

Deforestation and Mining The loss of forest habitats due to human activity can have a dramatic impact on flora, fauna and also humans as many forests are the ancestral homeland of tribal communities who for generations have lived in harmony with the forests. Mining activity brings destruction to jungles and forests. Not only does this impact dramatically on the environment and the habitat to a variety of flora and fauna, but also those tribal community’s whose ancestral homeland it once was. Deforestation such as due to mining activity triggers environmental concerns including soil erosion, which can be a serious problem particularly during heavy rains causing mudslides, which can be destructive to all forms of life. Also the soil can be washed into rivers and streams transporting fast amounts of silt and mud that can clog waterways or find their way to the ocean.
