The House of Castor and Pollux, also called the House ofthe Quasstor, is the most southern of the three, and was theearliest discovered, that is, between April 1828 and May1829. The name given to it by the ciceroni of Pompeiimust not be regarded as any certain evidence of the ownersrank.
