A handful of keshi natural cultivated saltwater pearls of unusual shape produced without seeding from a nucleus

The irregular shape of keshi pearls is a product of pearl cultivation where the oyster creates the pearl without the benefit of a nucleus. While not as valuable as perfectly round pearls, keshi pearls are becoming fashionable and are highly favoured because being solid nacre, they tend to have a higher lustre. These are Australian salt water cultivated pearls from Broome, Western Australia.
