Since March 30, 2018 protesters in Gaza have been demanding the full lift of the12-year Israeli blockade of the Palestinian enclave, which has had a detrimental effect to the economic and living conditions of the Gaza residents. This Friday is the fourth Friday of the month of Ramadan and coincides with the beginning of the of Laylat al-Qadr, which Muslims mark as the night the Koran was revealed to Prophet Mohammed for the first time.
