Just past the entrance (Niomon) to the Daisho-in temple is a flight of steps along which are prayer wheels inscribed with Buddhist scriptures or sutras. Turning the wheels as one walks up the steps is believed to bestow the same blessings and benefits as one would get from orally reciting the sutras. Miyajima Island, Japan
