The plant is the largest solar power-generating plant in Europe. Spain has quickly moved into renewable energy, with wind power alone fullfilling percent of demand so far this year on production increases of a third over last year. Spain ranks third worldwide in terms of overall installed wind-power capacity at nearly 16,000 megawatts, trailing only Germany at 24,000 megawatts and the United States at over 25,000 megawatts.
