Thugela falls ranks as one of the highest waterfalls in the world, it's exact position between first and third is uncertain due to discrepancies in measuring techniques. Hikers venturing to the top of the Amphitheater in Royal Natal can walk right up to the lip of the waterfall and peer down the nearly one kilometer drop.
