Shoulder muscles. Computer artwork of an anterior view of two of the muscles (red) of the shoulders and their attachment to the bones of the back and upper arms. These are the teres major and teres minor muscles. The teres major muscle is shown on both sides here. The teres minor muscle is shown in semi-transparent mode at left. Both muscles run from the scapula (shoulder blade) to the humerus (upper arm bone), and surround the armpit (axillary) space. The teres minor muscle is part of the shoulder's rotator cuff, while the teres major muscle isn't. The left-hand side of this view includes joint ligaments (white).
