The ulnar nerve is situated at theulnar side of the artery and close to it. The course of the lower por-tion of this artery is indicated by a line drawn from the inner condyleof the humerus to the radial side of the pisiform bone. The surgeonmay depend upon this line for determining his incision, or may recog-nize the position of the tendon of the ulnar flexor of the carpus by itsinsertion into the pisiform bone, and make an incision of one anda-half or two inches along its radial margin. The glistening tendon, uncovered after dividing the deep fascia, should be drawn from themiddle line of the arm, when the second process of deep fascia will beexposed.
