Original construction built country house 1570 72 Obizzi family architectonical decorations arts ancient monument historical Middle Ages garden. Conceived as fortress the castle had soon after become a prince s palace with large halls and frescos by Zelotti a pupil of Veronese Placed in the north area of Battaglia Terme the Castle is a residence of the Obizzi requested by Beatrice built in 1570 upon a pre existent country house The Castle has 305 rooms some of which are painted with fabulous frescos representing family s stories In 1803 the residence passed to the Estensi as a place for leisure then to the Asburgo that make it turn into a hunting reserve Finally it was confiscated by the Savoy State property as compensation for the huge damages of the Great World
