German knight in jousting armour, 16th century. This type of armour is particular to Scharfrennen or Feldrennen type jousts. He wears a kettle helmet retained from the 15th century, a bolted-on buckler and vizor protects the left side of the body, while the lance and vamplate protects the right. Leg armour (cuisses and greaves), and horse in caparison. From a suit of armour in Dresden History Museum.
