Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas. The image shows the wreckage of Plane No. 2274, which collapsed and fell from 4000 feet, causing the death of Lt. W. Buck, the pilot, and H. A. Bruhy, the passenger. The cause of the collapse remains unknown. The photograph was taken in December 1918 during the removal of the wreckage from Kelly Field and was designated for official use only.
