This street im-mediately leads to Palace-street, the direct roadto Margate and Ramsgate, by which travellers tothat part of the coast avoid not only the narrowand dangerous turning of Mercery-lane, throughwhich they were formerly obliged to pass, but savea considerable distance in their journey.
