He wascalled on a mission to Europe in 1852,arriving in Liveipool, England, , 1853. After visiting some of thebranches in England, he went toHamburg, Germany, and was appoint-ed president of the German MissionJan. 21, 1854. He was arrested andimprisoned for preaching the GospelAug. 13, 1854, and not being allowedto continue his labors, he was releasedto return home, and reached the Val-ley Sept. 11, 1855.
