In the spring of 1887 the buildingwas removed to its present location on Pacific avenue near changes and improvements were made, and it is now a large andvery comfortable church edifice. A handsome new stone edifice is now incourse of erection. St. Marys Church edifice, ( Our Lady, Star of the Sea ) at the cor-ner of Atlantic and California avenues, was dedicated in 1897. This churchwas formerly known as St. Monicas, and was destroyed by fire December2, i8q6.
