The youth of the Kuki–Zo tribes in Manipur have taken up arms to protect their village from external threats, especially from their enemies, the Meiteis, who live in the valley. With a strong sense of unity and determination to protect their land, the village youth have formed a defense force and armed themselves with single barrel rifles approved by the Manipur government. Clashes between the Meitei and Kuki-Zo tribes continue even after two months, with over 140 people killed and tens of thousands displaced.
