BARN OWL, UK.
These are wild barn owls (Tyto alba) approximately 9 weeks old. The nest is in an old barn the inside of which the farmer no longer uses. Barn owls have nested at this site for a number of years. For the last 3 years they have used this chamber in the gable end. This year there was a clutch of 5 eggs, 1 of which was lost. One has fledged but still returns to the nest sometimes. Other siblings are 'branching'. Photographed under licence.
