Elaborate preparations for a large ball were in- cluded in these. Eesults of last fall's dahlia show held at McCoy's are being seen at this shop now, a good general interest being shown in this offering at present. Funeral work has been holding up in fine order, especially fraternal business. William S. Goldsbary, northwestern representative of the A. L. Eandall Co., Chicago, is making a few short side trips to nearby trade centers in the interests of his house. H. M. FOBT SMITH, ABK. "Our Easter business this year was the greatest surprise that we have ever had since we have been in the flower business," stated Burley C. Johnston, of the Quality Flower Store. "Hereto- fore, while the Easter business has been good, it has never been one grand rush. This year we provided for a normal in- crease over other Easters, but we did twice as much as in any other year and could have done a third more than we did. Why? We don't know, unless it was possibly because this year Easter came during our bedding plant season. People have been calling for porch box plants for a couple of weeks. Just at this season our greenhouses looked at- tractive, with lots of lilies, hyacinths, and other flowers, and people just couldn't keep from coming back to get some for Easter.
